Supplier Diversity Europe (SDE) is a ground breaking project that is concerned with fostering co-operation among multi-nationals, large companies, public organisations, SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises) and diverse and under-represented businesses, in order to develop dynamic and effective procurement programmes in Europe. Supplier diversity helps large companies to effectively target SMEs and, within these, under-represented and diverse businesses in order to gain business benefits including increased market share. These businesses include, but are not limited to; SMEs which are 51% owned and managed by ethnic minorities, women, disabled people, and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people. | Supplier diversity is increasingly important in the European context and a challenging economic climate. SDE currently operates in the UK and France, and is expanding into Germany, the Netherlands and other parts of Europe.
SDE is a programme of MPG. MPG is an independent, not for profit ‘think and ‘tank based in Brussels with a track record in developing and implementing diversity and equality related activities. | Riots in England: Supplier diversity can be one part of the solution Supplier diversity can be one part of a solution to the recent riots in England, helping more social inclusion and building stronger communities.
